MAT.ZIP [PANGYO], 2025
17 x 17 x 0.27 cm
Magazine
Mat.zip carries a double meaning: it brings together many flavors like a zip file, while also referencing the Korean word for a good place to eat. Having lived in Pangyo since I was six, local restaurants continue to hold memories of different moments in my life through taste. As beloved local spots began to disappear, I saw this loss as a broader social issue affecting small businesses and local culture. Mat.zip was created as a platform to document and support these places, helping readers discover authentic, often overlooked restaurants while building their own “zip file” of memories in Pangyo.

GEMVIRONMENT, 2025
40 x 55 x 35 cm
Acrylic, colored pencil
“Gemvironment" explores habitat restoration by shaping icebergs with biodegradable materials: rice paper and pasta. Humans continue to produce lasting waste, especially plastics that take up to 500 years to decompose and release pollutants during production, destroying habitats. This work proposes an alternative. Using rice paper and a pasta-based framework, an iceberg, the essential habitat for polar wildlife, is reconstructed. The colorful lighting within the structure alludes to gemstones, symbolizing the aesthetic recovery of the ecosystem. A natural habitat with materials that return to the earth suggests a sustainable, biodegradable design that offers guidance for restoration.

HOME SAFE HOME, 2025
N/A
Adobe Illustrator
“Home Safe Home” reflects an irony that, as human safety is prioritized, habitat losses in the ecosystem will increase. The shining house in the middle represents a warm, bright environment with advances in technology. The absence of animals in their distinct habitat is symbolized by the white space within the outline of various species. This 9-block format leads people to look around their environment, rather than solely focusing on sustaining their own life.

VESPO, 2025
N/A
Figma, Photoshop
“Vespo” is a donation platform that combines sports with environmental restoration. Users earn points by participating in various sports activities, and these points are converted into donations for environmental areas represented by the Vespo Card they initially select. They can easily find teams to exercise with within a community and track the environmental impact of their contributions through live streams or metrics, creating continuous motivation. At the end of each workout, a photo is automatically taken when the time button is pressed, allowing users to post or share their activity as a visual record of participation.

THE BUNNY STAYS IN MY HEART, 2025
26 x 21 x 26 cm
Mixed media
"The Bunny Stays In My Heart” is a commemorative package designed to eternalize my cherished memory with a bunny named Bomi. My habit of preserving belongings connects with my attempt to treat others with genuine sincerity. Although thirteen years have passed since I purchased Bomi, the memory of her still consoles my monotonous days, leading me to share this emotion by permanently keeping this memory in a box-shaped blanket. The sweet memories are handwritten and symbolized by floral and ribbon patterns embroidered. This work aims to be a small solace to busy adults, recalling the innocence of childhood memories.

MYCO PALM, 2025
33 x 28 x 15 cm
Acrylic board, plastic
"Myco Palm" is a public shelter designed for areas where squalls and heavy rainfall have become frequent due to climate change. The shape of children’s hands raised as they run to escape the rain becomes the basic structure. Inspired by the umbrellas suspended above the streets of Vietnamese markets, layered umbrellas reveal the local identity and form the roof structure of the public shelter, while the incorporated shape of mushrooms in forest environments represents a blend with nature. Prototypes of public umbrella shelter were designed to be placed and hung in various public settings, forming a palm that shelters people from rain.

See-it, 2025
33 x 28 x 15 cm
Acrylic board, plastic
"See-it" is a large-scale index tab designed to support pedestrians navigating busy streets and unfamiliar public spaces. Inspired by the small index tabs on Post-it notes that lead people to return to a page, I wanted to translate this effective device into real life. The large index tabs guide people to notice their surroundings, remember what might otherwise be overlooked, and reduce unnecessary hesitation, reflecting the message of "See-it."
